Multicultural Festival
The Drum Will Beat Where Rivers Meet on September 15th!


Come join the K'ómoks First Nation in a celebration of the rich cultural diversity that exists in the Comox Valley and on Vancouver Island today. Cultural groups representing many lands near and far will join the K'ómoks First Nation to demonstrate their unique traditions for celebration and harvest through world music, dance, arts, hands-on workshops, interpretation and taste.

Festival Mainstage Headliners!
Award Winning Blues Guitarist George Leach, Grammy Nominated Shane Yellowbird and Comedian Don Burnstick will take the stage - see program schedule for more details.
This just in... 100 plus pounds of Salmon ready for the Traditional Bake!
Due to wild salmon shortages in the area - The "bake and buffet" will take place for lunch time only 12:30 to 3:30 or until salmon runs out. Other foods will be available all day.
Drum Jam
Immediately following the opening ceremony the "drum jam" will take place at the Main stage featuring demonstration by drummers from many parts of the world. Come experience the communication that resonates from the many drums beats of the world.
Traditional Mandala
We are pleased to welcome a Tibetan Monk, Tinzen, who will spend the day creating a traditional healing Mandala. In Tibetan tradition this mandala will be swept away into the waters where the two Rivers Meet as part of the festival closing ceremonies.
First Nations Blues Guitarist George Leach!
Join us September 14th for a special concert by First Nations Blues Guitarist and recording artist George Leach!
Concert takes place in K'ómoks Ceremonial (Big) House - Doors Open at 6PM. Reception will follow steps away in the K'ómoks Band Hall.

Main Stage
Here you will find non-stop entertainment of world dance and music from the opening ceremony at 11:45am and until the closing ceremony at 7:00pm.

Nim Nim Art Walk
Walk from the central festival area to where the Puntledge and Tsolum Rivers meet, experiencing local artists at work along the way.
Workshop Marquees
Marquee #1 takes place in the central festival area with dance workshops.
Marquee #2 takes place at the end of the Nim Nim River Walk where the Puntledge and Tsolum Rivers meet and featuring arts workshops of basket-weaving, beading and drum-making. Fees will apply for workshops and pre-registration is recommended - call (250) 339 7702.
International Food Fair
Come taste flavours from around the world.
Wine and Tasting Garden
Enjoy a relaxing area of tasting - wines and foods from local food producers.
Marketplace
Various International offerings available for sale.
Kids Zone
A place for kids to take part in crafting, stories, sing-a-longs and a climbing wall. Come enjoy some special kids entertainment.

Parking
Parking at the festival site is very limited and mostly reserved for performers and vendors. We recommend that you use the Park and Ride and enjoy a full day of festivals in Courtenay! $2 for each adult (round trip) Children 15 and under are free.

Bus will depart the Puntledge Campground for the circle route at 45 minutes after each hour starting at 10:45am and ending at 7:45pm ― leaving each stop no earlier than time of the hour indicated.
